Given that mountain lions are generally solitary animals, it is pretty amazing to see in a group like this. It is possible that they are littermates and that is why they stick together. We sure hope that’s the case, since seeing three sibling mountain lions want to play with a swing is just heartwarming. These mountain lions might also be a mother and two cubs. Two of the mountain lions do look smaller, although since they don’t spend a lot of time in the frame, it is hard to say for sure. This video was captured by a stationary camera placed near the swing. One of the mountain lions in particular seems very interested in the swing. He can even be seen ‘grinning’ toward the camera after sniffing it and getting it to move slightly.

Eventually, the mountain lions lose interest and walk away from the swing. It isn’t situated well for them to climb up because it moves freely anytime they bump against it with their noses. That would make it hard for them to get on the platform. It is also relatively small. Mountain lions can grow up to 5.5 feet, even longer when their tails are included in the measurement. They typically weigh between 80 to 160 pounds, with adult males weighing the most. The swing looks like it was made to support smaller animals and possibly people. It is around two feet off the ground, right at the eye level of the mountain lions. The location of this video is not provided but it is likely in North America. Mountain lions live all the way from Northern Canada to parts of South America. This video shows a heavily forested area that has plenty of trees and ground cover. This is an ideal environment for mountain lions because it gives them places to hide, hunt, and climb.
